flat iron if what i've said is correct03/10/2006 flat iron - A couple of weeks ago my flat iron that I use for straightening my hair broke in my hand. The joint that connected both sides of the flat iron came apart in my hand, right while I was using it. Of course, I couldn't just accept that it was broken, even though the plastic bolts holding the two pieces together had actually cracked in half. In fact, the more that I worked at putting the two pieces of my flat iron back together, the worse the damage became. But did that stop me from trying? Never!! I dug around in one of our bathroom drawers to find an implement to try to hammer the ornery pieces back together. I was not ready to accept defeat!! I rotated the plastic cylinders and eventually managed to force the pieces together. Then I grabbed a hair elastic and carefully doubled it over again and again, trying to recreate the lost tension between the two pieces of my doomed flat iron. Then I plugged it in, ready to go!! Of course, as soon as I tried to use my flat iron, it completely collapsed and the damage was even worse then when I'd set out to fix it. What you are about to read is the culmination of information from many different places and resources. I hope you enjoy it. So that was that. I tried examining the remaining pieces of my flat iron. I tried to think of some other use for the pieces. There had to be something I could use them for. In the end, I realized that this poor, abused tool was headed for its final resting place... the garbage! And I was headed for the store to buy a new implement of torture by the way. I noticed in our weekly flyers that there was a very good quality flat iron on sale. This was no ordinary flat iron. Oh no!! This was a professional quality flat iron that had the capacity to heat up to over 400 degrees!! That was definitely the one for me! And the price could not be beat when all is said and done. I went to the store and found the product I wanted and headed for the cashier. She smiled at me as I paid for my new flat iron and asked if the item was for me. I told her it was and she warned me not to turn up the heat all the way or I could actually fry my hair. I was delighted!! This just reinforced my confidence that I'd finally found the flat iron to replace all flat irons! This was similar to the flat iron that my hairdresser uses... with this I could do some serious damage put another way. I have now had my new flat iron for about two weeks. I've behaved myself and kept the temperature control at about 325, heeding the store clerk's warning. Of course, one day I know that I will throw caution to the wind and edge that dial up, just a little bit, and then maybe, just a little bit more! And before long I'll have a whole new catastrophe to deal with next we are going to discuss. So that's the information I have on that subject. I hope it was helpful and you were able to get something out of it. |
