Ever since I can remember, I have been grappling with shaving. Coming from a really hirsute family, I began sprouting facial hair from the age of 12. Of course my elders wouldn’t allow me to shave at that age, but I often slunk into my dad’s cupboard to experiment with his razor. And needless to say, as my experiments grew bolder and resulted in better shaves. My facial hair grew longer, stronger and faster than ever before. And as I entered adulthood, the regular razors were of no use at all in tackling the growth.

I still remember the first shaver I bought. It was a shiny black Braun shaver. I can’t tell you how thrilled I was to get my hands on it. It had been launched with much fanfare only a couple of months ago and each day, as I walked past the departmental store, I would see glowing advertisements for the ‘New Braun Shaver – the ultimate accessory for a man’. Naturally, I wanted to own it as soon as I could. And when I had finally saved up enough to actually afford it, I proudly walked into the store and bought my Braun shaver ordinarily that would be my conclusion, too, but.

I enjoyed many days of pleasurable shaving with the Braun shaver. It was smooth, efficient and gave me a totally clean shave. Truth be told, I actually enjoyed the feeling of owning a Braun shaver more than using it. But there were no complaints regarding using it either. It was the best personal accessory that I had ever owned. Until I started taking it along on my travels and managed to carelessly leave it behind in some hotel closet that is. Oh, how I agonized over my loss. I tried for days to get another shaver but my heart was all sold on my Braun shaver. I tried getting back to the good old razor, but it didn’t even come close to the effect of the Braun shaver. I didn’t have the money to go and get one more Braun shaver immediately and so, I waited and saved and waited some more for the day when I would be able to buy another Braun shaver after that step.

There were many other kinds of shavers available in the marketplace. But my heart was set on the Braun shaver. And I didn’t have to wait too long. The volume game of the market had ensured that the shavers dropped their prices soon enough. And pretty soon, I was once again the proud owner of a brand new Braun shaver in the same way.
